Young at Heart has been a recipient of funds through the Cultural Council's competitive grants program for several years. With an outstanding roster of musicians, this group makes a vital connection with seniors in our community.

In addition to performing tunes that bring back happy memories, the Musicians of Young at Heart communicate in a very personal and caring way with the elderly. the quality of their music is outstanding too. I am personally impressed that a musicologists works with each performer to develop themes and programs appealing to senior audiences.

I know that Young at Heart has received national recognition and the artistic director, Sean Seman, has made presentations to prestigious gathers such as the National Conference on Aging. I feel Fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated group of musicians working here in Santa Cruz County. They are a wonderful model for arts programs around the country.

It is a pleasure to give my unqualified recommendation to Young at Heart
